Artist Point is the journey to one of the peaks of Mount Baker in Washington state. Hiking for me can be very scary because I am incredibly uncoordinated and terrified of heights. I try to include in this piece both the gorgeous view of hiking and also the terrifying feelings I have when hiking up a VERY tall mountain.
 
The piece starts with soaring melodies that to me resemble the beauty of the drive and hike, but then everything switches to a groovy middle section. After a fast-paced ride with many mode and key changes, we find ourselves at the top. We are breathing in the view and soaking in the sun.
