The Life We Live was written for Alexis Noland.
 
This piece explores the range of the clarinet family while also exploring the complexity of human emotion when losing a loved one. We feel as if we are survival mode, dealing with the grief, and then finding a way to move forward. That love and loss is always there, but we find a way through it.
